How quickly does the block take effect?

Immediately. Your number is added to our suppression list the moment you submit, and it stops being dialled from that point on.

Do I need to give my name or a reason?

No. The phone number is the only thing we need. You do not need to give a reason and we will not ask you to reconsider.

Does this stop calls from the charity as well?

It stops all calls from Clever Contacts, including any campaign we run for any charity. We also notify the charity whose campaign you were called for within 30 days so they can update their own records, but they may contact you by other means unless you tell them otherwise.

Is this the same as the Do Not Call Register?

No. The Do Not Call Register is a national scheme run by ACMA that blocks most telemarketing, but calls made on behalf of charities are exempt under the Do Not Call Register Act 2006. That is why we maintain our own list.

Why did we call you?

We make fundraising calls on behalf of Australian charities. If we’ve called you, it’s because you’ve shown an interest in, supported, or are a member of one of the charities we represent. We never use bought lists. Our fundraisers will always introduce themselves and let you know which charity they’re calling on behalf of at the start of the call.

The Do Not Call Register does not cover charity fundraising, which is why we run this list ourselves.
