Our People

Our Support Team are a passionate bunch, with each team member wanting to make a difference in the world.

Josh Kidd

Managing Director

Josh is passionate about creating social change on every level. Not only through partnering Clever Contacts with many charities in Australia and New Zealand to raise much needed funds together, but by building a positive and happy work place where people are valued, supported and respected as fundraisers.

Josh and his wife, Hannah, bit the bullet and decided to start Clever Contacts from a room in their family home back in 2013, and haven’t really had time to look back. Now their bright blue and green Brisbane based call centre employs over 100 people, and Josh and Hannah have well and truly achieved their goal of building an ethical, reliable and successful tele-phone fundraising function, proven to be effective for many of the Nation’s most impactful charities.

Josh’s career has been built in IT and Fundraising- he used his own technical skills to build all of the infrastructure still used at Clever today, and has driven and delivered on many successful fundraising campaigns.

When Josh isn’t at work you can find him enjoying time with Hannah and their three kids- Lilly, Katie and Harry or maybe playing in the muddy 4wd tracks of the Sunny Coast hinterland.

The team he developed are a passionate bunch, ready, willing and able to make a difference in the world.

Josh also has exceptional technical skills and has developed all the infrastructure of Clever Contacts from the ground up- made for fundraisers by fundraisers.

When Josh isn’t burning the midnight oil behind the computer screen you will find him playing the doting and attentive dad with his young family, Katie, Lilly and Harry.

Amanda Lawrence

Account Manager

Amanda was born and raised in Brisbane, having lived there her whole life.

Amanda came to Clever Contacts as a returning mum, finding it initially challenging to get back in the workforce due to the long- time at home raising a family. Her background might be in both retail and hospitality management but it was smooth transition to fundraising and account coordination where all the years in customer service and people support and transferable skills came together.

Amanda didn’t have any previous charity experience and now says being able to go home every day knowing that I’ve helped make the world a better place is a great feeling.

Amanda’s favourite causes are those she feels have a direct impact on people’s lives and ultimately change their futures; The Smith Family, RFDS and Mummy’s Wish.

On weekends (when time allows), Amanda likes time in her studio feeding her creative side or to get out and enjoy the fresh air; Sunday drives in the country, bush walks, weekend markets, exploring greater Brisbane with husband Derek and two children, Cody and Ellah.

Fun fact – although overseas travel is something Amanda would really like to do at some stage in life, to date she’s never been out of Australia.

Destiny Jetson-Aplin

Call Coach

Destiny moved here with her son from across the ditch in 2020 just as the pandemic locked down both countries. We’re very lucky they found Clever Contacts as they settled in. Destiny started with us as Fundraiser and is now working to coach her peers in the crucial role of Call Coach. Destiny’s favourite charities are Ronald McDonald House and Lifeline.

She is a proud Maori woman and although has settled into Aussie life, she misses home and family a lot. When Destiny is not at work, she’s hanging out with her young Son, Tawhirimatea – who, interestingly, is named after the Maori god of the Wind and the Rain who protects you from harm.

Anna is a gentle soul with a genuine care for all, so working with so many wonderful causes and an agency whose voice makes the world a better place, just fits nicely with her doing good in the world.

Anna says it’s hard to pick a favourite cause – “there’s such a lot that needs doing in all areas. Those closest to me have been touched by cancer and spinal cord injury, but universal access to quality education and conservation is also important”.

When not overseeing and managing Clever Contacts campaign and business reporting needs Anna will be doing photography , painting, camping, building things and hanging out with the kids and grandkids.

Anna is slightly addicted to art and science podcasts and doesn’t mind escaping whenever she can to Fraser Island for some hard earned R&R. .

Diane Melloy

Data and Reporting Officer

Diane is originally from Cambridge, UK and moved to Brisbane eleven years ago with her husband and three children.

Diane career in data is quite varied, including software development, data analysis and management consulting. For Diane, this is the first foray into the charity space and enjoys feeling the passion at Clever Contacts to do the best we possibly can for our charity partners.

Diane is not entirely foreign to charity having had a wonderfully fulfilling experience in sponsoring a child in the past, where the child, now an adult with his own family, has reconnected via social media, and is very grateful for the support he received.

When not focusing on data integrity and returns, Diane enjoys having a very active family, with three teenage sons there is always something going on – running, mountain biking, cricket, soccer, learning to drive, etc – but manages to squeeze in some time for herself – bush walking, boot camp, cooking, social time with friends.

Fun fact: To balance out the sexes in her household, she recently had a new female addition to the family, a puppy named Koko.

Outside of work, Nathan likes to hit the gym or play basketball, when he’s not doing those you can find him playing guitar, sprawled out watching Netflix, playing golf or going fishing. Fun fact: For 4 years Nathan was a professional gamer where he attended competitions all around Australia and the World.

Justin Sacilotto

Information Security Officer

Justin joined our IT department at the beginning of 2021 as the Clever Contact’s Information Security Officer. He’s our PCI- DSS guy, making sure our entire operation and very important charity data is kept safe and secure. Justin was actually a Sparky before he went into study XXXX, and when he’s not at work you can find him binging Netflix, riding his bike or going for a hike – bring on the outdoors!  Justin really loves the work he does, and the team he gets to do it with – plus he gets to work with some great causes, he is especially passionate about the work delivered by Sea Shepard and The Leukaemia Foundation. Funny story, once Justin mistook a damaged bike tyre for a snake, jumped out of his skin when he say it while he was studying to finish his degree.

Our HR and Administration team are here to make sure our office runs like a well- oiled machine and together are proud to create a positive and happy place where people enjoy coming to work.

Hannah Kidd

Founding Director

Hannah is passionate about creating the best possible workplace. Her focus lies in employee happiness and health, and creating a supportive and progressive environment for all. Working mostly behind the scenes, Hannah deals more in the administration and general management tasks of the office, leaning on a varied background of experience in both NFP’s and Private Companies.

When she’s not working, and often while she is, Hannah is Mum to Lily, Katie and Harry and wishes mostly just for a moment’s peace and quiet. She loves a nice adventure, a bit of baking, and dragging Josh to restaurants he doesn’t want to go to, to eat food he won’t really like.

Vicki Love

Vicki has always been a Brisbane girl, born and bred and always on the North side…of course

Vicki has been knee deep in the charity sector for the past 20 years, and unlike many in the sector, spent that whole 20 years with the one organisation.

Over the years Vicki has had to wear many hats, with her main areas of expertise being on the Financial side of the non- profits, all the fun stuff including Budgets and all of the Administration of Fundraising and Marketing Teams.

Vicki loves being on agency side as she now gets to work with many charities that are so important to our communities and that have such an impact on so many lives. Vicki also really enjoys speaking with the wonderful people who are supporting these causes.

Having two children, Taylor and Cooper and a love for animals, it’s animal welfare and humanitarian causes and the work they do that she is personally most passionate about.

Outside of work, you will find Vicki spending quality time with her family, whether that’s planning the next family holiday adventure or turning over the snags at little athletics on a Friday night with hubby Steve.

Fun Facts: Once upon a time Vicki was a very good horse rider and also achieved a black belt first dan in Tae Kwon Do

Mary Siaosi

Trainer

Charities important to me Ronald McDonald House, The Clown Doctors and Fred Hollows.

A fun fact is my baby brother is the second strongest man in Queensland, but I’ll still beat him in an arm wrestle lol! You’ll find me with my little ones chilling out or having a family breakfast at our fav café on a Saturday morning! I love listening to all different types of music and lazing around on Sundays at our family lunches at auntie’s place.

My background has been in recruitment. I love my job as I get to train the future Fundraisers of Clever Contacts and see them grow into superstar fundraisers and making a huge difference to all of our charities. Why I choose fundraising because it’s so important to raise awareness for the many great causes out there.

John Murray

Fundraiser

John has been part of our brilliant team of fundraisers for over a year now, in that time he’s raised over 150k for our Surfies through the Surf Life Saving Raffle program. John managed in retail for years before making the call to put use his talents to create positive change in our world. John grew up travelling the East Coast of Australia, so it makes sense that the causes he cares about are our Surfies, and keeping healthy rainforests and waterways, as well as reducing food waste and equality on every level.

Helen Read

Fundraiser

Helen has three children – two boys, a girl and her adorable grandson Levi- the light of her life. She also enjoys being the “Work Nanna” for Tawhirimatea (Destiny’s little one) when he comes in to visit after school.

Helen has worked in sales for her entire career (it’s no wonder she’s such a champion), starting at 18 at a Co-op in Griffith she’s since sold stationery, toothpaste, make up and has now found her true passion; raising money to keep our Surfies on the beach, and our communities safe.

When Helen isn’t changing the world, she’s house sitting in our local area, taking care of lots of animals and hanging out with family.
