Shannon Laverack

CEO

Shannon has held senior roles in the charity space since 2001 and is the CEO of Clever contacts. Shannon throws his energy into forming partnerships with Australia’s most loved and highly regarded for-purpose causes to help raise funds that will enable them to deliver on their mission.

After spending almost two decades working in charity fundraising and marketing programs, Shannon knows what truly drives donor behaviour and the importance of making sure donors get the satisfaction of giving and continue to feel good about their gift.

It’s not mastering the flavour of the week, it’s doing what works well. It’s how well you tell the stories that need to be told and how well you connect the problem with the people who are passionate about making change with the problem that needs solving.

After so many years on the charity side, it’s now working on the agency side, he feels he can work closely with many great causes to increase their impact.

As an avid traveller of the world, when Shannon is not working on fundraising programs, he’s researching the next potential destination for an adventure. Shannon also loves his tunes and can found flicking through his record collection on a weekend with a red wine in hand.

Josh Kidd

Founding Director

Josh is the founding director of Clever Contacts and it all started a little over four years ago when he could see his crystal-clear vision.

He wanted to build a call centre that would ensure charities in Australia would have an ethical and transparent option for their telemarketing supplier.

A generous and charitable man at heart, Josh knew the right staff with similar values to him would make the cornerstone of the type of call centre he wanted to create and an environment he knew would attract great clients and great fundraisers alike.

The team he developed are a passionate bunch, ready, willing and able to make a difference in the world.

Josh also has exceptional technical skills and has developed all the infrastructure of Clever Contacts from the ground up- made for fundraisers by fundraisers.

When Josh isn’t burning the midnight oil behind the computer screen you will find him playing the doting and attentive dad with his young family, Katie, Lilly and Harry.

Our account management team have been on the front-line of fundraising, where passion and dedication helped them tele-fundraise for a range of different charities. It is through this fundraising experience that they have acquired knowledge and insight into what it takes to run a successful campaign.

Alex Lausev

Account Director

Originally hailing from the great state of Texas in the U.S of A, Alex has been an integral part of the growth of Clever Contacts from the early days, having worked on hundreds of different tele-fundraising campaigns. She loves the challenge of managing successful campaigns and exceeding client expectations wherever possible.

As our Account Director, she’s one of the first in and one of the last to leave each day. Alex gets a great amount of satisfaction and inspiration every day by delivering amazing results for the charities, no matter how big or small.

Monique Osborn

Account Manager

Monique’s first working experience was in family law, dealing with clients at a pretty low and stressful point in their lives. Monique learnt a lot about helping people and attention to detail required during that time.
Decided she wanted to do something that helped on a greater scale, Monique moved into fundraising soon after and has never looked back.

Monique loves waking up every day and contributing to making the world a better place. “It’s great to be a part of something bigger and actually making some kind of difference”.
Monique has a massive interest in human rights, and organisations such as Amnesty International. Her motivation stems from having an Eastern European family that was affected by the Second World War and who became refugees as a result. She is also interested in women’s rights, especially with two young daughters – Sophia and Zahra

Clever Contacts wants to have a call centre full of happy, mature fundraisers making the best possible calls for our clients. This means having a focused support team is very important. Working in harmony is our Call Centre Manager, Recruitment and training officer and our Call coach, to ensure we always have the best fundraisers with the right training and ongoing coaching needed to keep kicking goals for our clients

Sam Magriplis

Call Centre Manager

Sam has been working in and Managing Call Centre’s within the commercial sector for almost 20 years. Sam started out like many as a Customer Service Officer and worked his way up to Senior Management roles.

With a good grounding in customer service and a genuine care for getting the best out of people , it has allowed Sam to learn what it takes to lead teams to great success. Sam is passionate about providing an ethical framework around providing quality service and believes surrounding yourself with passionate people is the key to success in any environment.

After almost 20 years in the private sector Sam is now using his skill set for the greater good, driving fundraising campaigns with us as Clever Contacts.

Sam has a real affinity for causes working to care for people affected by Cancer and having personally been touched by Cancer, he hopes that in our lifetime we can find a cure..

Sam’s role sure is a busy one as the Call Centre Manager, overseeing all aspects from recruitment and training to scripting and testing and the ongoing motivating, inspiring and coaching on a daily basis to get the best possible results for our clients.

When Sam isn’t leading his team, he enjoys spending quality time with his family Meg, Mia and Eva. Sam’s also a keen musician having played in several bands and continues to collaborate on music projects in his spare time.

Paul Gunston

Software Developer

Paul grew up in country Queensland, moving to the big smoke of Brisbane in 2016.

Paul started working with Clever Contacts to help develop the awesome technology base of the company. He ensures all of our systems, software and hardware work effectively at all times whilst also being the chief of innovation, continual improvement and new development to keep us ahead of our competition. Paul’s other hat is the one of Cultural Leader. He facilitates projects, bringing the values of Clever Contacts to life and creating cultural growth.

Anna Silvester

Data Manager

Anna,  our resident Data Manager was born in Brisbane but grew up in Townsville.

Anna has been around charities and agencies most of her career, working for Pareto before spending 11 years as the Data Manager at the Children’s Hospital Foundation

Anna likes getting into the nitty gritty of the data ensuring continual improvement of the data flow by planning, testing and implementing process change.

Anna is a gentle soul with a genuine care for all, so working with so many wonderful causes and an agency whose voice makes the world a better place, just fits nicely with her doing good in the world.

Anna says it’s hard to pick a favourite cause – “there’s such a lot that needs doing in all areas. Those closest to me have been touched by cancer and spinal cord injury, but universal access to quality education and conservation is also important”.

When not overseeing and managing Clever Contacts campaign and business reporting needs Anna will be doing photography , painting, camping, building things and hanging out with the kids and grandkids.

Anna is slightly addicted to art and science podcasts and doesn’t mind escaping whenever she can to Fraser Island for some hard earned R&R. .

James Park

Data & Reporting Officer

James is our resident data out guy. Originally from Innisfail in far North Queensland, James was brought up on a cane farm.

It’s no surprise that James has performed many roles and worn many hats over the years, from the humble beginnings as a farm hand and mechanic to finding his niche in I.T and Business Intelligence for the past 14 years.

James has always been involved in the community with 20 years dedicated to the scouting movement. When the opportunity came to work for Clever Contacts, James jumped at the opportunity to work with so many worthy causes.  

James is giving back outside of work to a number of charities close to his heart. Having lost his mother to Breast cancer, he continues to support various Breast cancer charities as well as the RSL and Legacy in support of our returned service men and women.

James is Clever Contacts worst vegetarian, travelling Australia as a BBQ judge. When not adjudicating the meat fests, James enjoys spending time at home with his family and the dogs cooking the family meals and enjoying old Sour beers from Germany or a Jack Daniels.

 Fun fact: James dreams of building a Mini Ute, Harley powered Rat Rod.

Administration Manager

Vicki has always been a Brisbane girl, born and bred and always on the North side…of course

Vicki has been knee deep in the charity sector for the past 20 years, and unlike many in the sector,  spent that whole 20 years with the one organisation.

Over the years Vicki has had to wear many hats, with her main areas of expertise being on the Financial side of the non- profits, all the fun stuff including Budgets and all of the Administration of Fundraising and Marketing Teams.

Vicki loves being on agency side as she now gets to work with many charities that are so important to our communities and that have such an impact on so many lives. Vicki also really enjoys speaking with the wonderful people who are supporting these causes.

Having two children, Taylor and Cooper and a love for animals, it’s animal welfare and humanitarian causes and the work they do that she is personally most passionate about.

Outside of work, you will find Vicki spending quality time with her family, whether that’s planning the next family holiday adventure or turning over the snags at little athletics on a Friday night with hubby Steve .

Jessica McDermott

Quality Assurance Office

Jessica,  our resident eves dropper was born to do quality assurance, focusing on the compliance side of our calls and providing relevant feedback to help our fundraisers be better versions of themselves is what she does.

Jess is a Brisbane local, born and bred, never travelling too far from home, she likes the simple life.

Before joining Clever Contacts, Jess worked in conservation, bush regeneration and wildlife rehabilitation, so not surprising that the environmental causes are closest to her heart. Jess also loves working with humanitarian charities that make a difference to the lives of animals and humans in need.

 Outside of work Jess tries to spend plenty of time in the outdoors and doing her art. Jess is also a gamer, hanging out with her son and regularly challenging him on various games consoles.
